This past month has been pretty busy with Coding Bootcamp. I learned a lot of new stuff. The class has a good mix of people in it from different backgrounds and coding experience. The instructors and TAs are pretty good and helpful towards students.
We also had 2 guest speakers from potential employers come into class and talk to us.
We learned about the following topics so far:
HTML & CSS
Git and Github ( Check out my coding projects repository on Github www.github.com/sunita321 )
Going live on the web with Heroku
Bootstrap
JavaScript and jQuery
Right now the styling side of the design with HTML, CSS and Bootstrap is pretty easy. The logic side with JavaScript and jQuery is a little more challenging but does allow me to add really cool dynamic and interactive features to my webpages. Getting better with practice.
Below are links to the last 2 games I made using JavaScript and jQuery that are currently live on Heroku.
Every week I journey 3 times to Orlando and back for classes. The 1.5 hour drive can be pretty boring but then I discovered my Google Play subscription includes some podcasts. Now I get to stream Radio Lab and TED talks on my way there and back. If anyone out there have any suggestions please let me know!
On my off days I get to keep up with apartment cleaning chores, try out recipes and of course practice coding.
My Vaio laptop is holding up ok so far for class. The fan still gets cranked up if I open up too many processes though.
Considering joining the cult of Mac for Christmas. Will post some of the shortcuts I learned so far soon.
